Honey Types

All of Garvin’s honeys contain the proteins and other natural ingredients found in honey which we feel is important for the flavour and natural goodness of honey. They have not been ‘fine filtered’ like some honeys found in supermarkets.

This honey comes from the wild areas of Queensland and New South Wales and is mainly from the Eucalyptus tree. It has a distinctive taste, is a richly thick, and amber in colour. It can be set or clear.

HUNGARIAN ACACIA honey from the Danube Basin
Acacia comes from the Danube basin where the beekeepers take their hives to the vast forests of Acacia trees when in blossom during the spring. The honey is always clear, has a mild delicate flavour, and is light in colour. Its very popular and is good for pouring on breakfast cereals, in yoghurt, or on ice cream.

MANUKA HONEY

Originating from the tee tree plant in New Zealand Manuka has been found to have very good anti bacterial properties compared to other honeys. The UMF10+ sign indicates that it has been tested and has a ’Unique Manuka Factor’ of 10+. The higher the number the more effective it is.

It is very good for stomach problems such as ulcers and helps to clear up stubborn burns or cuts which may be slow to heal.
